Chrysanthi was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 27, after she discovered a lump on her own. Despite her initial fear of seeking medical advice, she proceeded with examinations following her mother’s encouragement. An ultrasound and biopsy confirmed the malignancy. Genetic testing revealed a BRCA2 gene mutation, leading to the decision for a total mastectomy and immediate reconstruction due to her young age. Today, Chrysanthi continues to face the challenges brought by this experience with strength and awareness.
