Sofia / Depression
Sofia, now 26, had a childhood marked by verbal and physical abuse from her family environment. At the age of 11 she was diagnosed with depression but her life took a new turn when, at 15, she met a dance teacher who helped her discover her worth and inner strength. She finished school with good grades, worked summers to finance her education and graduated as a midwife. However, after college, she hit a rough patch, struggling with bipolar disorder and depression, which led her to seek help at a psychiatric clinic. Today, after years of perseverance, he is healthy, medication-free, living independently and surrounded by a supportive circle of good friends.
