Lesbian is a term that defines queer attraction to women and is used to describe women who are romantically, emotionally, and/or sexually attracted to other women. This aspect of human diversity is not limited by culture, geography, or age, and it has a rich history that has evolved over time. It traces its origins to the island of Lesbos in ancient Greece, where the poet Sappho composed verses that celebrated love and desire between women. Over the centuries, the term evolved and was shaped by various cultural, social, and political forces. Many lesbians who are not attracted to men face the same issue where men believe they can “force” lesbians to like men. This harmful idea has resulted in wrongdoings against lesbians across the world, especially in countries which are more conservative and traditional and which are unsafe countries for queer individuals in general Some lesbians may openly embrace and celebrate their sexuality, while others may be in various stages of self-discovery. It’s crucial to remember that sexual orientation is just one facet of a person’s identity, and each lesbian has her unique story to tell. This is Alexandra’s story
